Yes, all of my dinnerware and drinkware is made out of stoneware clay. They are safe to use with food and beverages. All of my stoneware pottery intended for food and beverages are glazed with glazes that are non toxic after the glaze firing is complete and a final product is established.
Can I use abrasive pads to clean my pottery when hand washing a piece of pottery?
No, DO NOT USE anything abrasive when cleaning handmade pottery. Hand washing stoneware pottery is recommended. Please use a dish cloth or sponge when washing the pottery.
Can you place stoneware pottery in the dishwasher?
Yes, you can; However, I recommend hand washing any stoneware pottery. Hand washing stoneware pottery will ensure your pottery will last a lifetime.
Can you place functional stoneware pottery in the microwave?
Yes, my functional pottery is microwaveable. Please take CAUTION when removing the pottery from the microwave when fished microwaving your beverage. The pottery and beverage will both be HOT.
Can you place functional stoneware pottery in the oven?
Yes, but you must place the item into a cold oven and let it heat up in conjunction with the oven. DO NOT place cold or room temperature stoneware pottery into a hot oven (this would increase the chances of the pottery cracking). In addition, DO NOT place hot stoneware pottery into the freezer or refrigerator (this will increase the chances of the pottery cracking). All stoneware pottery is sensitive to extreme and sudden temperature changes.
Can you place functional pottery directly onto any heating sources (burners that contain direct flames or electric heating elements)?
No, you cannot place functional or any pottery directly onto any heating sources. This will cause the pottery to crack.
I am looking to buy a matching set, will every piece be exactly alike?
No, each piece in a set will not be exactly alike. Each piece of pottery is handmade. Slight variations will occur from piece to piece in terms of size and shape. In addition, the same glaze will vary on each piece of pottery. Please keep in mind; no two pieces are exactly alike. This is what makes handmade pottery unique and interesting. When creating sets, I do my best to ensure sizes, shapes, and colors coincide with each other.
